    Web Design

Bay Connect builds websites for community organisations and we help our clients and train them to manage their sites without any previous web design knowledge.

The internet is becoming the most popular way to shop or find information about facilities within the local area. Any organisation who are not online are losing customers or new members.

Our aim is to bring as many community groups and organisations online as possible to maximise their business and member potential. The cost of having your own website is not as expensive as you may think. Our prices are very reasonable for everyone.

We are currently upgrading our websites to keep up with the latest in web design features and security and are currently hosting 22 local community websites.

    About Us

    In the beginning:

Bay Connect started as part of the Hervey Bay Community Information Network Project

" The Hervey Bay Community Information Network Project aims to provide a comprehensive, coordinated approach to enhancing community access to the internet and information technology.
Bay Connect embraces the entire community. A main focus will be on providing access and training for people disadvantaged by low income, social isolation or geographical isolation.
The project is an initiative of the Community Solutions Hervey Bay and is being developed in cooperation with the Hervey Bay City Council, the Hervey Bay Tourism and Development Bureau and other support organisations and individuals.
Council and Community Solutions are seeking funding for this project through Networking the Nation, a Commonwealth government program for the enhancement of telecommunications and infrastructure in regional Australia."

Bay Connect was a small idea in a group of community minded people, who thought this idea of the 'Internet' could benefit all residents in regional Queensland and Bay Connect was formed.
We have now trained over 10,000 people in all forms of basic computer, intermediate computer, Internet & digital camera studies, most of whom have a Centrelink card or benefit.

The original Bay Connect web site was built as a community Work for The Dole Project and was first launched in October 2004.

Bay connect is managed by the Hervey Bay Neighbourhood Centre and is an unfunded program. If you would like to support us please contact the Hervey Bay Neighbourhood Centre on PH: 4194 3000
